Mission: The foundation strives to bring social and systematic changes needed to improve the outcomes and lives of young people in the underserved communities of Summit County and Akron, Ohio.
Vision: The Kappa Foundation of Akron is built upon the fundamental premise that a world that celebrates individual achievement and strong communities of color can only be realized when human-kind makes an unwavering commitment to the promotion of equality and ending poverty for all.
The George C. Miller Scholarship was developed in honor of Brother George C. Miller, who was a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and first African-American principal in the Akron Public Schools. This scholarship has helped young people in the Akron area and Summit County who plan to pursue college after high school. The Kappa Foundation of Akron has committed and distributed over $160,000 in scholarships for college since 1999.
